Over the years, I have benefited immensely from its health fairs, which have provided timely and critical access to health screenings and valuable resources. Since the inception of Misty Blue Cancer Foundation, the Westmoreland Health Department and in particular the Health Promotion/Education Unit have been teaming up with the organisation in building health literacy vis-a-vis the importance of screening for the most common cancers bedevilling the residents of Westmoreland. These cancers are prostate,  cervical, breast and colorectal. The partnerships took the forms of radio interviews with the convenor of the organisation on matters about cancers and the host of Health Talk on VYBZ 96.3 FM, which is a local radio station situated in the parish of Westmoreland. The programme is hosted by one of the Health Promotion/Education Officers at the Westmoreland Health Department. Additionally, the Health Education Unit has also arranged interviews for the founder of the organisation with a journalist from the Jamaica Information Service, where she shared useful information on cancers.

The Women’s Ministry of the Negril New Testament Church of God (International Worship Centre) located at Whitehall Road, Negril in Westmoreland was made aware of the MistyBlue Cancer Care Foundation about two (2) years ago through one of our members who was then an active member of the Foundation. Members of our congregation also attended and accessed free screening and health checks at their Health Fairs.
